Rowan Eric Payne Update

Alright, just got a call from Erin.  The home health nurse got her back up and running.  BP's stress level just decreased significantly.  BP also found his jump drive this morning that he lost (not his old one but the new one he bought).  Now, the only stress level he has is the FIRING that may happen to him this afternoon.  But as God keeps strengthening BP and speaking to BP through a lot of ya'll on how he is always in control, BP is in a mellow mood even though he still is in no mood.

Anyway, some of ya'll have asked for pics in the last couple of minutes (Cuzz Scott).  BP was planning on plasturing everyone with pics this weekend but his trip to wal mart got detoured into a visit/stay at Crestwood.  So pics will be coming soon (hopefully in the next few days...whenever BP can break away to get the pics uploaded).

Anyway, here are some updates on Rowan..aka The Row-Train...aka Rowboat...aka The Sexy Rower...aka future boy who all your daughters will want to marry:
1) Situps up day:  as stated earlier 7
2) Spitups:  10
3) Gun Shows:  been 3 so far
4) Eating:  up to 2.5-3 ounces
5) Driving:  not yet
6) Last Bath:  Thursday night
7) Favorite Food:  milk
8) Favorite Song:  "I'm Too Sexy"
9) Favorite Group:  Right Said Fred (they sing "I'm Too Sexy")
10) Recruiting:  no calls yet
11) Future Sport:  Basketball and Football
12) Walking:  1 step with Daddy's help
13) Favorite Activity:  Sleeping

Rowan/Erin Update # 9

So BP is a little irritated and stressed this morning.  So Erin has been hooked up to this wound vac since her surgery Friday night.  None of the nurses at Crestwood (least in the maternity department) knew anything about this wound vac.  Luckily Dr. Perterson had already set it up during surgery Friday night so all the nurses had to do was to carry it for Erin when Erin had to pee.  So we got discharged yesterday (or really last night) but it was not a simple process.

Belinda arrived at the hospital at 7:30 yesterday to sit with Erin while BP went to work.  BP figured Erin would be discharged by lunch at the latest.  Well that didn't happen.  First a case worker had to talk to Erin to get Home Health set up.  That didn't happen until after lunch.  Then Erin had to wait for some home health product rental agency to bring a wound vac that Erin was allowed to take home.  Evidently the wound vac that Erin was hooked up to was the property of Crestwood and wasn't allowed in the outer world.  So a new wound vac didn't show up till 7:00 pm.  Now Erin had kept a smile for most of the day but by now Erin was just irritable and that was very much understandable cause all the Payne/Bates family were.  BPand Erin's patience had ran out.  BP and Erin had been the family patient that all the nurses wanted.  So BP had to ref a couple of games last night from 6:00 to 8:00 and was for sure Erin would be home by the time he got home.  That wasn't the case.  BP jetted back to Crestwood after his last game to watch the nurse set up the wound vac.  Erin's mom had got so irritated that she called the doc and told her to find someone who knew what they were doing and could set the wound vac up.  When the wound vac arrived, all the nurses kept handing it off to other nurses cause no one knew how to work it.  So the doc found a nurse from another department to set it up.

So at 9:30 the Payne's left the hospital.  We got home at 10:30 to only find the wound vac not sucking at full strength.  BP tried to fix it by adding more tape to the wound but there was still an our leak.  At 12:15ish, Erin called a lady from her church (Mrs. Michelle - aka Mrs. M) to come over.  Mrs. M use to be a nurse for home health. So Mrs. M showed up and verified what BP had found - our leak.  She called home health to come out at 12:30am but after staying on hold for several minutes, they finally told her they didn't have any paper work on Erin yet since she got discharged so late.  They couldn't come out. They did tell Mrs. M to take all the tape off and the sponge out and to pack it with wet gauze and they would be out in the morning.  So Mrs. M ran to Wal Mart to buy supplies and gloves and started the painful process. At this time BP had to go to bed because he had already fell asleep one time at the wheel and had to get up early for work (more on work at the bottom).  Erin should have stayed till morning at Crestwood and even Dr. A wanted her to but the insurance wouldn't pay for another day unless she was running a temp.  So that mean either the nurses lie or the Payne's come home.

So this morning Mrs. M is on the phone with home health trying to get them out but they are trying to get all the paper work filled out.  BP is pretty irritated/ticked/stressed right now.  Hence the length of this blog.  Crestwood was great except for this.

To add to his stress, there is a RIFF (Firing) that is happening today between 2:00 and 3:00.  It is supposely giong to be a significant cut from the email that was sent yesterday.  Another reason for long blog, BP has no desire to work at the moment.

Please keep Erin and BP in your prayers.  They don't want her wound to become reinfected because of last night's events and BP really wants to keep his job.

However, Rowan is doing awesome.  He is up to 7 situps a day and can take 2 steps with Daddy's help.

Rowan Update #8

Hey guys

Please forgive BP for not using 3rd person (or is it first person) through this blog...BP IS TIRED!!!

We came home from the hospital Tuesday and we are now back in the hospital as of 12:30 today (Friday).

Rowan is good and his doc appointment went well.  The Jondas (spelling?) is under control.  However Erin is not in the same boat.

As of Wednesday Erin started to complain that her incision was hurting and "on fire".  Of course I checked it but didn't see anything abnormal.  Thursday came around and more of the same but I still didn't see anything abnormal when checking it.  So we waited till her schedule doc appoint at 10:00 this morning (Friday).  Erin said the doc's words this morning (I was sitting in car with Rowan cause his appointment was at 10:30) "Oh, that doesn't look good".  Dr. A decided to send us back to Crestwood to get some high dosage antibiotics.  When the nurses started looking at Erin in the hospital, I realized I wasn't looking in the right place and I saw what they saw.  We knew it was going to be at least one night stay (and probably 2 nights) so Belinda arrived at the scene and so I took that opportunity to run home to pack bags.  When I returned I found that Erin's infection looked 10 times worse.  Dr. Peterson was the doc on call so she came and took a look and said "we are opening you up".  They took Erin into surgery around 6:10 and 2 hours later she returned with a wound vacuum installed. This wound vacuum will stay installed in Erin for 1-2 weeks and so now she has a tub running from her incision to this box that she has to carry around.  We are staying in the hospital till at least Sunday night but I foresee it being Monday before discharge comes and that is if all goes well.  There are some much more details like the fact that she has a sponge in her open wound.  More details can be given if needed.

Erin is in much better spirits than she has been all week long.  Very chipper so far (but she also has a lot of drugs shooting into her).

We need your prayers that this infection will go away.

Rowan Update #7

So BP and Erin are on day 5 of their Crestwood Hospital stay.  Around 2 days too long for BP.

Well yesterday BP and Erin got some bad news that Rowan has Jondas pretty bad.  His Billy Rubin level got to 17.4ish yesterday so they took him away from BP and Erin around 4 to let him "lay on the beach".  He only comes around for feedings. So BP has his hopes up of being at home today but one more day.  Dr. Fields (Rowan's Doc) said the Billy Rubin level was down to 14 today but he wants it at 11 before he quits getting the lights blasted on him.  He said we could go home and he would call in home health but after talking to nurses (and even Dr. Fields pretty much said staying in the hospital was the way to go), we decided to tough it out one more day.

Now the nurses are trying to get the insurance to pay especially since Dr. A came by and said she wanted to keep a watch on Erin's blood pressure one more day since her blood pressure has been shooting high again.  If the insurance want pay then BP and Erin go on the "rest easy" plan which means we pay $50 out of pocket and get no attention from the nurses.

They just took Erin's blood pressure 150/104...that is way high...Dr. A said she bumping erin up on her blood pressure medicine.

Rowan Update #6 and PICS

r. A is circumsizing Rowan as we speak.  Good luck with that Rowan

They have Erin on some magnesium medacine for her blood pressure.  We can't be released to the post labor side of the hospital till she comes off this medicine which will be 8:00 tonight.  They nurse isn't allowing visitors unless it is immediate family while Erin is on this high blood pressure medicine and even though BP and Erin consider cuzzes and cuzzetes immediate family, the nurses didn't buy it.  And talk about trying to distinguish to them the difference between cousin and cuzz was hard.  Rowan bit one of them for calling Scott a cousin and not a cuzz.

Anyway, BP knows that some wanted to come visit today but the nurse asked for all visitors to hold off till tomorrow.  So if you were planning on coming, you are welcome to call to see if there are any changes but more than likely you need to wait to tomorrow.

Updates:
Rowan: screaming his wee wee off
Erin:  sleeing
BP:  about to upload pics
Temp:  a freken 66 which is way higher than 60 which it was for most of night.  The magnesium medicine makes Erin feel hot so hence the freezing temp
Cooper:  probably barking and knocking something over
Paisley:  probably sleeping
Hungry:  not much, at some frosty flakes this morning
Clean:  BP is, just took a shower.  Erin......
TV:  TLC - climb the ladder (flipping houses)

PICS are now HERE

Also, check out the proud Pokster.  BP needs a cool name for grandpa Pokey.  Belinda is going to be B for now. But i can't think of something cool and non old sound for Pokey.  Help us out.  Rowan is a chunky little dude especially to be 3 week earlier!!

Rowan Update #5

Erin is up to 18 on the pitocin dosage (30 is max).  So far Rowan is not "stressing out" on this round.
But pretty much if Rowan still doesn't stress out, he has till today to come out. Erin says she doesn't want to go through another day of this induction so C-Section is even more probable sometime today.

Updates:
Who is here:  BP, Nana, Daddy Rob, Momma Kat, Belinda
Lunch:  BP and Belinda just got back from Moes.  Daddy Rob and Momma Kat heading out to eat now.
TV:  not currently own
Erin's Mood:  very good right now
Her outfite:  Gown and now oxygen mask

Rowan Update #4

Forgot to say that they started the Pitocin (BP thanks Ashley) again 1 hour ago.  Like BP said, if Rowan stresses out this time..Game Over and C-Section it is.  Erin is back up to level 8 on the Pitocin.  This is the same level that Rowan stressed at early this morning.

Stay tuned

Rowan Update #3

Well doc came in at around 9ish to try and break water and no success.  She said Erin wasn't no where near.  Doc left and then 30 minutes later the nurse came in and said we had to stop the potosium (spelling?) because it was stressing Rowan.  She called the doc and doc (Dr. A) said give it one more shot.  If this doesn't work then GAME OVER and C-section (spelling?).  I am pretty sure the nurse thinks a C-Section is 100% and Dr. A said we could call uncle (not uncle mike but uncle meaning mercy) and she would do a c-section (that is what Dr. A said after trying to break the water but we said we would keep going on natural birth for now.
However, Rowan can't be stressed and if he is stressing right now while she is only 1 centimeter dialated...and barley contracting..no way he can handle full blown birth. That is why C-Section is more than likely what is going to happen early this afternoon.

Some more updates:

Current room temp:   70 degrees.  Erin said turn it up from the 66 that was set through the night.

Nervous:  Not much right now
Internet Service:  It keeps going out right now

Rowan Update #1

Alright, so far we are still waiting.  Erin is dilated to 1.  However they are starting her on the inducing medicine at 6:30 no matter what.  Her contractions have been coming all night but as of 10 minutes ago she can actually feel them (they are getting bigger).
